Pecha Kucha: Stories That Move Us

Our Pecha Kucha presentations are short, visual stories shared by educators from across Aotearoa. They offer personal insights into how people discovered Dramatic Inquiry, what it looks like in their classrooms, and how it has shaped their teaching, their learners, and themselves.

These are not formal presentations: they’re snapshots of real journeys, honest reflections, and powerful moments of connection.

What is Pecha Kucha?

Pecha Kucha is a presentation format that utilises 20 slides, each shown for 20 seconds, making it fast-paced, visual, and to the point. It’s designed to keep things engaging, emotional, and relatable.

We use this format to share our experiences with Dramatic Inquiry in a way that’s creative, accessible, and grounded in practice.

Why We Share These Stories

Each story is different. Some tell of the first time a teacher stepped into the role. Others reflect on the tensions explored in a powerful unit. Some speak to the challenges of shifting pedagogy or navigating the discomfort of not having all the answers.

Together, they demonstrate the richness and diversity of our work, as well as the transformation that occurs when learners and teachers collaborate in inquiry.
